We decided to head to Murfreesboro to go to the Murfee Springs Discovery Center. Before we left Patrick asked if Stones River National Battlefield was close. It was only about 10 minutes away so we decided to head there before the discovery center.

Stones River National Battlefield and Murfee Springs Discovery Center
We stopped at the visitors center first. She gave us a great recommendation for a shaded trail to try out.
I was so hot that we didn't hike very far, but we enjoyed the pretty scenery.
Since it was record breaking heat, we decided to do the audio car tour of the park. We stopped at a few sights and listened to the audio through the car.
It was a fun educational stop. Patrick was pretty excited about adding another national park site to his book. Then we headed to lunch and the discovery center.
The big boys were ready to leave after a couple hours, but I think Caitie could have stayed all day long. It is perfect for toddlers! We didn't explore any of the wetlends outside as it was just so brutally hot. I would love to come back with Caitie and explore in the fall!

Bicentennial Splash Park
The Bicentennial fountains have been closed the whole summer because of Covid. They were just opened up for the end of summer so we decided to head there on a hot day!
The kids had fun finding where we live on the Tennessee map.
This little guy had a blast running through the fountains. After all of his brothers were done playing he played by himself for a long time still running through them.
We are so busy during the school year that we don't have time to explore our own city. It's always fun to be able to head to different spots in the summer!

Bowling and Ice Cream
We had a rare Saturday night without any plans. We decided to head to cool springs to get Patrick's football gear and go bowling or "Goling" as Caitie likes to call it.
We had planned to stay for 1 game but had so much fun we stayed for 3!
After bowling we headed to Sweethaven to grab a treat.

Uniform Shopping
Conor has speech every Thursday morning, so Patrick, Peyton and Caitie and I head to the West Meade Elementary park to walk/jog around their park. This sweet little girl is always right by my side.
We had a lot of errands to run this week. All the kids had dentist appointments and we went uniform and shoe shopping for school. We decided we needed a fun treat! We headed to Sugar Drop Desserts and Boutique. It is the cutest little store! We all got ice cream cones and then a couple of iced oreos for the road!
Then this little cutie couldn't wait to try on her uniform! She is so ready for school!

Slip N Slide
Conor really wanted to add "Spend the night with the Dunn's" to our summer bucket list. They heard about his idea and invited him over after Carson and Patrick's basketball game one night. He had a blast staying up late and then donuts in the morning.
Afterwards, they invited all the kids over to go on the Slip n slide. They had so much fun!
Fun summer days are my absolute favorite!
