Patrick is 23 months old! This is probably the last monthly post on Patrick, since he isn't changing as much now.
He is doing so well in his big boy bed and bed time has gotten so much easier than it was when he was in the crib! He doesn't mind going to bed now, which is awesome. It's still a long process, but so much better! He calms down by cuddling on the couch and watching about 20-30 minutes of t.v. and then I tell him its time to go night night and he tells Thomas or Mater or Lightning McQueen (or whatever we are watching) night night. I lay in bed with him for 10-15 minutes while he tells me night night a few times and cuddles until he falls asleep. I would love to get in the routine of a book instead of t.v., but a book just can't hold his attention and calm him down enough. Little guy just has so much energy! For reference, with the crib I would have to rock him until he fell asleep and then hope he didn't wake up when I put him in the crib.
He also takes all his naps on the couch. Just not worth the fight of getting him in his room for nap time! We lay down and cuddle on the couch for 5 minutes and he is out like a light! I just love how much this little boy loves to cuddle!
He still runs about 20 circles around our upstairs before nap time or bed time. We can normally tell when he is trying to get ready for bed by his constant running (and he is fast!) I guess it's his way of burning more energy!
He is starting to try and talk in sentences. Most of his sentences are about his friends, family and his trains. He really loves talking about all of his friends and family members. It's really cute.
He still loves bath time. He spends at least 30 minutes in the bath every night. He mostly loves to dump water on his head over and over again with a cup.
He is also getting better about food. Not great, but he is trying! He is still obsessed with fruit snacks and his new obsession is cheese ritz bits crackers. His beverage of choice is still milk and he does not like water very much.
He is also really into telling us that everything is his. If Michael or I pick up a toy he runs over to the toy and yells "my car" or "my truck." Not sure where this new phrase has come from, but we are working on it!
Otherwise he is doing great and is a really happy little boy! I'm interested to see how he reacts in his new role of big brother!
