Mulloy Disney Trip 2018 (Part 6)

We spent our last day at Disney at Animal Kingdom. We tried to go a couple years ago, but the kids were little and just couldn't handle it that day. So this was really our first time experiencing Animal Kingdom. We were also excited to experience the new Pandora.

It was extra magic hours for Disney hotel guests that morning and it was PACKED. We got there a few minutes late and got in the wrong line for the Avatar ride and the wait was already 2 hours long. We decided to change our plans and go to Kilimanjaro Safari. We had a fastpass for the ride, but there was no wait. The animals are most active in the morning. We were able to see so many animals, so it really worked out beautifully.

After the Safari we went to Festival of the Lion King. We lucked out with amazing seats and were on the third row. There were four sections and Peyton was chosen to go in front of the crowd for our section. He was too nervous, so Conor immediately raised his hand and was chosen. He was so cute waving at everyone in the theatre.

We were all starving, so we decided to go to Flame Tree Barbecue. We walked by the Tree of Life on our way to lunch and took a quick picture.

We were the first people in line for Flame Tree Barbecue and had to wait a few minutes for it to open. I am so glad we decided to get in line early because the line formed so fast and was probably 30 minutes long by the time we had ordered! It was probably our best meal of the trip! Every single child ate their meal, which is rare for our crew!

The line was really short for Russell and Dug from Up so we decided to meet them. We had never met them before and I am so glad we did because the pictures were adorable!

Three years old is definitely challenging at Disney, but it is also the best age for characters. I just love his excitement!

We headed to Dinoland next. We passed by a photopass photographer with no line, so we jumped in a few pictures.

Our best dinosaur impression

And a special magic shot

We decided to stop at the Boneyard playground. The kids played for a really long time in the playground and burned off a lot of energy. Pluto was on a bone hunt at the playground and Patrick and Peyton had such a fun time trying to help him find his bone.

We were excited to meet Pluto in his special Animal Kingdom collar

We decided to head back to the Swan and Dolphin for a few hours for a swim break. Caitie had fun playing in the sand on the way to the pool.

These gooftballs had a blast at the pool

We headed back to Animal Kingdom around 4:30 and both little ones were out like a light.

We decided to use our fastpass for Expedition Everest. This ride looked terrifying to me, so I opted out. Peyton said it was very fast and scary!

Michael and Patrick loved it and decided to ride a third time.

The sun was setting as they were riding and Sharon took a beautiful sunset picture.

After Expedition Everest, we checked the wait time for Avatar Flight of Passage and noticed it was only 70 minutes. We had been checking all day and it had not fallen below 250 minutes all day! We ran to Avatar and Sharon and I took the two big boys on the ride while Michael waited with Caitie and Conor. We all loved the ride. It was so fun! We also had time to ride the Avatar boat ride right before it closed. Avatar at night is really beautiful!

We had planned to eat dinner at Animal Kingdom, but by the time we finished riding Avatar the park was closed. So, we headed back to the Swan and Dolphin and ate at the Fountain. We all had milkshakes and grilled cheeses and they were delicious.

The next morning we woke up and swam for a little while before driving the 10 hours back to Nashville.

We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way back and Santa Claus happened to be there.

We had the best time and were so sad to leave Disney World and get back to the real world.  See ya real soon!
