Thanksgiving Florida Keys Trip- Key West (Part 2)

After relaxing at Margaritaville for the morning, we made the 3.5 hour trek to Key West. We stopped at Wahoo's for lunch. It had gorgeous views.

The key lime pie was delicious!

We made it to the resort pretty late and went for a swim and ate at the resort.  The pool was really nice and heated, so the kids played for a long time. 

The next morning we woke up early to go to Dry Tortugas. However, when we got to the boat, it was too windy to go. So we came back to the resort ate breakfast and swam for a little bit.

Mid morning we ventured out to Key West. We took the conch train hop on and hop off tour. It was a great tour. We all learned a lot. 

Of course we had to hop off at the southernmost point.

It was really hot so we stopped for some daquiri's at the southernmost point bar. This was Caitie and Conor's first trip to have a daquiri and they both begged for them the entire trip!

We loved seeing all the roosters. They are everywhere in Key West!

We watched the first half of the UT game at a bar in Key West. It wasn't a great game, so at halftime we came back to the hotel for a swim. 

The next morning we headed off on the Dry Tortugas trip. It was a full day trip. We sailed back into Key West at sunset. We drove the boat by Mallory Square and it was absolutely packed. I have never seen more people! We were so glad we did not attempt to do this the night before. 

It was such a gorgeous sunset!

We headed back to the hotel to shower and get all of the salt off of us before heading back to the water for dinner. We ate some delicious Key lime pie treats from Kermit's Key Lime Shop and then called it a night!

Thanksgiving Florida Keys Trip - Miami (Part 1)

We flew into Fort Lauderdale really early on Thursday morning. Once we arrived we went to breakfast. It was delicious. 

Then we headed straight for the pool at the Margaritaville resort. They just had a huge storm the day before we flew in, so it was flooded most everywhere and pretty windy. Three of the four kids still decided to swim in the freezing water and had a blast! The other three of us had fun just laying out at the pool. 

The swimming and sunbathing iguanas were definitely a highlight.

We all took a nap after a really early flight. Then we headed to our first NBA game. The boys were so excited! We were in Michael's company box and it was awesome. 

The suite had a deck on the back that looked out over the water and the Miami skyline and it was absolutely gorgeous! We loved getting the fresh air during halftime and after the game. 

After the game we noticed that there was a really long line for going on the court and shooting a free throw. We did not have tickets, but somehow Michael managed to get us in line. I was nervous the whole time that we were about to get kicked out. But somehow we made it out there and everyone shot a free throw. The boys loved it. 

It was a late night, so the next morning we slept in a little and then headed to the beach and the pool for the morning.  We got a late checkout so we could enjoy the gorgeous weather before making the long drive to Key West. 

And we are off to Key West!

It was a really fun start to the vacation!

Kindergarten Field Trip- Gentry Farm

The kindergarten goes to Gentry farm for their field trip each year. There were so many parents that wanted to go, that I wasn't able to attend this year. I did get some sweet pictures from friends of the day though. It looked like such a fun time!
