We headed out to the park early morning again. The wait to get in was very very long. We arrived at the same time as the previous day, but I think since it was a Friday it was much busier.
We took our usual picture at the sign.
Then we hiked to Alberta Falls. It's a nice hike and is about 2.5 miles long.
The water was really flowing and it was really pretty to see.
The kids loved the little ground squirrels. They were so interactive and looked like they were talking to the kids.
Conor thought it would be funny to pretend like he was sleeping.
After our short hike, we went to lunch at Smokin' Daves barbecue. It was really delicious. Then we headed back to the cabin and hung out in the hot tub for a little while. Michael had a few work calls, so we took it easy and played at the park.
In the afternoon we headed out to drive Trail Ridge Road, which is the highest continuous paved road in the U.S. The views are absolutely gorgeous. Caitie took a nap during the first half of the drive.
We drove Trail Ridge road almost all the way to the end of the park. A few of us started to feel a little uneasy with the elevation change, so we took our time in the valley at the bottom of Trail Ridge Road.
We were so excited to spot a Moose and her baby. We took our time watching these gorgeous animals.
We also spotted a few herds of elk. They are gorgeous!
It was pretty late by the time we got back to the cabin and the kids all begged to get Mcdonald's and let Michael and I have another date night. We decided to branch out from our usual of the Dunraven and go to Hunter's Chop House. It is at the entrance of our resort, so it really worked out perfectly. It was a cute little restaurant!
It was a full day and we were pretty exhausted by the end of it!
