The kids were exhausted after another late night in NYC, so they slept in pretty late on the 4th of the July. We had plans to go to the 1pm Reds vs. Yankees game. After everyone was up and ready we grabbed a quick breakfast at Grand Central Station at the Doughnut Plant and then headed towards the game.
We arrived early enough to explore the stadium. Caitie played on the playground.
Ready for this HOT 4th of July game.
Our seats were in the sun for the first six innings, so Caitie and I took full advantage of the inside air conditioning with the Suite tickets.
Had to try out the Grub Tub!
Of course ice cream is a must on a hot day!
After the game we jumped on the very crowded subway and ran up to the room to change for the fireworks boat cruise on the Hudson River.
We cruised past the Statue of Liberty
It started raining right after the fireworks show finished. Luckily we headed inside while we were on the boat. However, we had a 2 mile walk back to our hotel after the boat ride. These little people were champs walking through a very busy Times Square in the pouring rain at midnight. Way to go buddies!
