NYC Family Vacation- Part 4

On the last day of vacation, we woke up early to explore the Statue of Liberty. It was a really hot day. We boarded a ferry with about 700 people on it and it was hot and stuffy! We got a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty on our way.

Once there, our guide explained the 5 smaller statues that all contributed to the end result of the Statue of Liberty.

It was a foggy day, but you could see the skyline of New York City.

It was packed at the Statue of Liberty, but we managed to get a family picture. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to go up into the Statue of Liberty but it was fun to see up close.

We took the next ferry to Ellis Island and our guide told us about his family history. We explored a little bit and then took the ferry back to Manhattan.

For lunch we headed to John's Pizzeria in Times Square. We got traditional NY pizza for our last meal in the city.

We didn't have any plans in the afternoon and the kids were pretty hot and tired. It was also really packed in the city, so we decided on the Minions movie. It was a nice way to cool off from the extreme heat!

After the movie, we had one last dessert at Juniors. I got the Rasberry Swirl cheesecake, Michael got the banana float and all of the kids got milkshakes. It was a fun way to end the vacation.

We headed towards the airport to depart on our late night flight.

It was a fun vacation exploring the city with the kids!
