Patrick- 17 Months

Well I am a little late on this post, but Patrick made some big leaps this month.  He got four more teeth, so it was a rough month for this little guy.  Teeth really bother him, so there wasn't that much sleeping last month. He only has 4 more teeth to go which are his two year molars.  I am definitely dreading those teeth!  Hopefully we have a little while longer.

Patrick is still a picky eater.  His favorite things to eat are grapes, watermelon, yogurt, goldfish and MILK.  Lots and lots of milk.

He LOVES cars and trains.  He carries his cars and trains around with him all the time while constantly saying choo choo and racing his cars across a table or chair.  He takes at least two cars to Margaret's every day and she says he doesn't put them down the whole day.  Patrick normally eats with a car on his highchair too.

Patrick has known his body parts for a little while now, but he is really loving a book that we got recently that talks about ears, nose, toes, etc.  He loves for me to read it to him while he points out everything on both of us.

He is such a cuddler and loves to cuddle!  But he also loves to play really rough and bounce all over the place!  I swear he has more energy than any child I have ever seen!  He is still really into climbing on everything!

Mom, no more pictures please!

Playing with daddy

Patrick thinks Michael is so funny and just giggles at everything he does.  Patrick used to be a momma's boy, but he is quickly becoming a daddy's boy.  He still wants mom whenever he falls down or at night time, but every other time he wants daddy to be holding him and playing with him.  Michael and Patrick play really rough together, which is Patrick's favorite!

I just love this little guy and his precious smile!

Day out with Thomas

A couple of weekends ago we went to a Day Out with Thomas.  Patrick is obsessed with Thomas, so I knew he would love it.  Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there, but I don't think Patrick cared one bit.  He was in awe the whole time!  He said choo choo (which is his favorite word) about 100 times while we were there.  He was also soo good on the train.  It was a 25 minute train ride and he just sat there the whole time looking out the window.

He was amazed when he saw Thomas for the first time

They had Thomas videos playing under the tent since it was raining and he loved it

So excited!

Football Weekend

Last weekend Michael and I went to Atlanta for the UT and Auburn games.  The UT game was on Friday night, so we sent Patrick to school and headed to Atlanta friday morning.  Patrick dressed up in his UT clothes for school and matched daddy.

After we got to Atlanta, we got ready and headed to the game.  One of Michael's friends rented a party bus to take all of us to the game so we wouldn't have to worry about drinking and driving and parking at the game which was really nice!

We left Patrick with Nana and Grumps for the weekend.  Megan and Ryan decided to go to the game too so Patrick's cousin, Harper, joined Patrick for a sleepover at Nana's.  When we were on the bus, we got this picture from Nana of Patrick and Harper.

Michael and I at the game.  We had great seats on the 8th row in the student section, thanks to Michael's brothers.

A few pictures of the boys at the game

Nana sent us this picture of Patrick and Harper after the first UT touchdown.  Patrick is obviously amazed by the touchdown!

UT won and we had a great time at the game!  When we woke up we had this picture from Nana that said "we survived the night."  I am so glad they did well, because i'm sure both of them at the same time was quite a handful!  Patrick did wake up once at midnight, but luckily Nana had not gone to bed yet.  I think they watched an episode of Thomas the Train and everything was all better and he went back to sleep.

On Saturday night we went to the Auburn game.  The game was good, but it wasn't a good outcome for Auburn.  We still had fun though!  I am so glad we ended up going to Atlanta for the weekend.  We were hesitant at first, since its the busiest time of year for us and I knew going would mean I would have to work on labor day and late the whole next week, but it was definitely worth it!  We are going to the beach with my family next week and I am ready to spend some much needed time with Patrick before our next big deadline at work!  I can't wait!

Fun Weekends

The weather has been beautiful the past two weekends and we have taken full advantage of being outside. A couple of weekends ago, Patrick and Michael had a boys outing and went to the Zoo with Robbie and Michael Sechrist.  Patrick and Michael are only a few months apart, so they have lots of fun together.

Below the boys are looking at the Clouded Leopard cubs

The zoo wore Patrick out and he fell asleep in the stroller at the zoo

That night Patrick went swimming with Denton, Big and Allie

Last week Margaret took a personal day, so Patrick had a day out with Nana.  I wish I could have taken the day off and hung out with Patrick, but he had a great time with Nana!

Fell asleep in the car talking on the phone

Patrick loves to eat with his foot on the table wherever we go

Lately, Patrick has really loved to play with his bat.  He has seen us hit balls with the bat and he tries to do it too, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of it.  He throws the bat at the ball instead of the ball at the bat. It's pretty cute!  He is also not into wearing clothes at home, so we are in a diaper most of the time while at home.

On Saturday morning we went to the tree houses at Cheekwood.  It was packed!!  Patrick woke up at 9 that morning (since he was up most of the night) so I thought he would be fine to go right before nap time, but I was wrong!  He had fun at the first couple tree houses, but then he got tired and wasn't up for the crowds any more!  Not a great picture, but there were so many people it was hard to find a spot to take a picture!

On Sunday we went to the Zoo with Matthew and Taylor.  Patrick had a lot of fun!  Below they are looking at the meerkats.

It was nap time at the zoo for most of the animals.  It was no exception for the clouded leopard cubs.  You can't see it in the picture, but they were the craziest sleepers!

We are loving this great weather!

Patrick- 16 Months

Patrick is 16 months old!

His BIG accomplishment this month is sleeping through the night almost every night!  Woohoo!  He likes to "talk" (i.e. babble) to me for a few minutes while we rock.  I took away the nighttime bottle last month, so I have to rock him from 45 minutes to an hour for him to fall asleep.  I don't mind as long as he sleeps through the night!  He is very particular about who rocks him to sleep.  If dad tries to rock him to sleep he normally wakes up in the middle of the night, so i've learned that if I go out one night I should count on getting up with him.  Maybe that can be our goal for next month!

He is still such a picky eater and I can't predict from day to day what he will eat!  He does surprise us every now and then and eats something I wouldn't expect him to eat.  He loves milk and drinks so much of it.   He carries his sippy cup around all day with him!

Patrick is definitely going to be a climber.  He practices climbing on anything he can!  He also loves going up and down the stairs constantly!

He loves playing chase and peek-a-boo.  He also loves sitting on our laps and playing any game.  He pulls me over to where he is playing and sits on my lap and then just happily plays.

Cute little buddy playing peek-a-boo with mom while on his slide

He isn't saying any new words this month, but he never stops babbling!  He talks constantly.  He is starting to understand more.  He can point to all of his body parts when you ask him where his nose is, for example.

No new teeth this month, but I can see four more that are about to poke through!

He is such a little giggler.  He loves being tickled and then giggling like crazy!

Patrick has been really into copying Michael and I.  He saw me push the chair up to the fridge and put something in the cabinet above the fridge.  I walked away for a minute and when I came back in the room Patrick had pushed the chair back to the fridge, climbed up and was pulling off magnets.

He is so much fun right now, just giggling and laughing all the time!

Irish Picnic

On Saturday, we went to the Irish picnic in McEwen, Tennessee.  It's a fundraiser for St. Patrick's school and there are a bunch of games, music and lots of barbecue! The barbecue is always so good! Michael and his family have been going to this picnic for years and Michael and I have been a couple of times together.  Patrick was not in the best mood, so we didn't get to stay that long but it was fun to introduce him to it!

Patrick played tic tac toe and went fishing for ducks.  Maybe next year he can play some more of the games!

After that, we went home to take a nap and then head to Michael's parents house for the Mulloy family reunion.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but Patrick had fun playing with dad and his uncles in the pool!

Other than our fun trip to the Irish picnic, we haven't had much going on.  Patrick hasn't felt well the past week, so we relaxed on the couch on Friday.  He also woke up at 4am on Friday morning, so he wasn't up for doing much at all!

On Friday night, we went to a friends house to watch the opening of the Olympics.  Patrick fell asleep on the way over there and was still pretty tired while we were there.  I don't think he is as excited as I am about the Olympics :)
