Monday started off a little rocky! We had reservations at Chef Mickey's for 7:15am, which meant that we needed to be on the bus at 6:30am, so we could ride the bus to Magic Kingdom and then hop on the monorail to the Contemporary Resort where Chef Mickey's is. We were running late and the boys were pretty grumpy (which I fully expected!). It was also raining very hard. Michael and I almost decided to ditch the Chef Mickey's reservations, but decided not too and I am so glad we went.
Can you tell how tired they are?!
Once we got there, Patrick really perked up and was so excited to see all of the characters. Unfortunately, I had my camera in action mode from the night before so all of the pictures are a little blurry. Oh well, at least it captures his precious smile and excitement!
Chef Mickey's is very efficient, so we didn't even really have time to get up and get our plates before all of the characters started coming to our table. It was great that the kids only had to wait a couple minutes to meet them!
First up was Goofy
Then Chef Mickey
Donald Duck
Poor Peyton was still terrified!
Patrick was so upset that Peyton wouldn't join him with Donald. Patrick kept trying to tell Peyton all about it, but Peyton just wasn't into it!
And Minnie Mouse
Pluto was silly!
Since Peyton fell asleep, Patrick and Michael decided to ride the Mine Train
Barnstormer is a junior roller coaster that is about 30 seconds. There was hardly a line, but I think riding this ride after riding the Mine Train was a little disappointing for them. I think Peyton might have been tall enough to ride (since he is very tall for his age), but we weren't sure he was ready for it yet.
There was no line for Tinkerbell so we decided to go as soon as we got there. Tinkerbell wanted to play hide and go seek with Patrick so she asked Patrick to close his eyes and count to five.
Tinkerbell "flew" to the other side of the room and asked Patrick to tap on her foot when he found her
He thought Tinkerbell was so fun and was a little shy around her. He did make sure to tell her that he met Peter Pan since he knew they were good friends :)
After we met Tinkerbell we went outside and noticed the parade was going on
We had sort of skipped dinner (oops) so we decided to go get a little treat. Patrick loves ice cream and had never had an ice cream cone before, so we decided to go to Main Street to try out Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Patrick decided he wanted a chocolate ice cream cone and he loved it! Definitely messy, but so cute to watch. Peyton hates ice cream, but he is in a phase where he has to do everything that Patrick wants to do. I had planned to share mine with Peyton since I got a large waffle bowl, but he threw an absolute fit about not having his own. So we decided to let him try it out. He took one lick and decided he hated it, but just look how proud he is to be like big brother and have his very own ice cream cone!
We had not been able to ride Dumbo yet, so we headed for Dumbo next since it is definitely a classic! Both the boys really liked it, but it wasn't a favorite for either of them.
We also rode Pirates of the Carribean, which I probably would not have ridden had I known there was a huge drop in there. Plus it is a little scary for the little ones.
We headed to Tomorrowland next. We had fun dancing at the Incredibles Super Dance Party. Patrick was dying to meet them, but they weren't doing meet and greets after the dance party since it was so late.
After the dance party we rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover. It is pretty neat to hear about Tomorrowland and you even go through and can see the people screaming and riding space mountain. It is a very long smooth ride and Peyton fell asleep on the ride. The second that Patrick saw Peyton's eyes closed he excitedly announced that he gets to ride the Mine Train again because Peyton fell asleep! It was so cute how excited he was!
After the People Mover Patrick asked to ride the Astro Orbiter. It is the tallest ride in the Magic Kingdom and had incredible views. Patrick and I rode this one since Peyton was already asleep. The ride was surprisingly faster than I thought it would be!
Patrick was really tired by this point so we thought we might head home during the fireworks and try and beat all the traffic. However, when we saw the line for the Mine Train was only 30 minutes (for reference it is consistently 90 minutes + during the day) we decided to ask him if he wanted to ride it one more time. As soon as Michael mentioned the Mine Train, Patrick perked up and got so excited. It was starting to rain pretty hard and it meant they would have to watch the fireworks in the line, but Patrick didn't care one bit.
Peyton slept right through the fireworks, but I got a nice view outside of the Mine Train.
Time to head back to the hotel, but not before one last picture in front of the castle!
