Irish Picnic

On Saturday, we went to the Irish picnic in McEwen, Tennessee.  It's a fundraiser for St. Patrick's school and there are a bunch of games, music and lots of barbecue! The barbecue is always so good! Michael and his family have been going to this picnic for years and Michael and I have been a couple of times together.  Patrick was not in the best mood, so we didn't get to stay that long but it was fun to introduce him to it!

Patrick played tic tac toe and went fishing for ducks.  Maybe next year he can play some more of the games!

After that, we went home to take a nap and then head to Michael's parents house for the Mulloy family reunion.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but Patrick had fun playing with dad and his uncles in the pool!

Other than our fun trip to the Irish picnic, we haven't had much going on.  Patrick hasn't felt well the past week, so we relaxed on the couch on Friday.  He also woke up at 4am on Friday morning, so he wasn't up for doing much at all!

On Friday night, we went to a friends house to watch the opening of the Olympics.  Patrick fell asleep on the way over there and was still pretty tired while we were there.  I don't think he is as excited as I am about the Olympics :)

Patrick- 15 Months

Patrick is 15 months!  We had his 15 month doctor appointment last Friday and he weighs 20 pounds, 14 ounces (8%),  height is 32 1/4 inches (80%) and his head circumference is 30%.   Such a tiny little guy!  His ears also looked perfect this time.  Two times in a row that he hasn't had an ear infection!  Way to go buddy!

He is saying three new words this month.  He says "choo choo" for a train, "uh oh" and "hi."   He still babbles constantly.

He LOVES Thomas the Train.  Whenever he comes home, he grabs the remote controller points to the T.V. and says choo choo.  He only really watches the first 3 minutes which has the song, waves at Thomas when he comes on the screen, and then runs off to play with other things.  It is hysterical!

He loves rap music and dances to it and bobs his head when we are in the car.  I'm not talking hardcore rap, I mean when there is a pop song on the radio and there is a little rap portion in the middle.  Not sure where he gets that from!

He is not throwing meltdowns anymore, like he was a few months ago!  He still gets a little upset when I can't understand what he wants, but he isn't falling on the floor and screaming.  Hopefully that is past us for good!

He really likes a little girl in his class named Eliza.  She is almost 3, but Patrick runs around trying to hug her all day.  Margaret says that he probably gives her 10 hugs a day.  How cute is that?

He also loves to give mom and dad hugs.  He also pats us on the shoulder when we talk to him (not sure why).  He has also started fake laughing when anyone laughs.   Almost like he wants to join in since everyone else is laughing.  It's pretty funny!

He hasn't been a good eater this month.  He mostly only eats yogurt, cheez-its, applesauce, graham crackers and anything with cinnamon on it.  He also drinks a ton of milk.  The kid really loves milk!

He is consistently taking one nap a day for two hours.  However, night time is still a different story.  He is hit or miss on whether he will sleep through the night.  He has more nights where he sleeps through the night though, so we are definitely improving!  I swear its because he is just too excited to sleep!

Margaret commented that he is one of the most active children that she has ever watched and that is saying a lot!  Although recently, he has really loved to cuddle with me on the couch for 5 or 6 minutes, which in toddler time is a long time to be still :)

Love you Patrick!

4th of July

We had a fun fourth of July this year!  We hung out by the pool most of the day, which really wore Patrick out.  He took a 3 and a half hour nap after swimming!

Playing before swimming in the pool

After Patrick woke up from his nap we went to Belle Meade for their Carnival and to eat some dinner.  Patrick was a little too young for most of the activities but he really enjoyed watching all of the big kids running around.  He also loved watching the train, but was too scared to ride on it.

Bouncing with Big

He was too nervous to get into the bouncy house, maybe next year

Running around on the pickle field.  Look at that determined face!

After Belle Meade we went to Hillwood to watch the fireworks, since they were closer to home

Patrick was amazed by the fireworks, but he has really sensitive eyes so the lights were pretty bright for him.  He kept covering his eyes and squinting.   The sound didn't seem to bother him at all, probably because of how loud Turk and Bailey are barking in his ears every day :)   I was so glad he took such a long nap so he could stay awake for the fireworks.

Weekend Fun

This weekend was so hot, so we spent our time swimming and hanging out indoors.  Michael and I decided we needed some more "big boy" toys around the house so we got Patrick a slide.  He LOVES it!  I think he went down it 75 times that day.

Here is a little video of him sliding.  This was like the 30th time he slid down, so he was a little distracted by the people walking by outside.

Patrick's First Haircut

Patrick had his first haircut on Friday.  I was so hesitant to cut his hair because I loved his ringlets, but Michael kept commenting that he looked like a girl, so I caved.  The stylist did a good job and left his curls intact though so I am glad we went!

Before his haircut

We went to Snip-It's to get Patrick's first haircut.  It was such a cute little place full of fun things for kids. Patrick cried his eyes out for most of the haircut.  He is scared of strangers, so being strapped into a seat with a stranger holding onto him terrified him.  Once they brought out the bubbles, he stopped crying for a few minutes and I got a few pictures.

We went on a Friday afternoon and it was perfect timing.  We were the only ones in the place, which was great since Patrick was crying hysterically for half of the haircut.  Since the haircut was so traumatic we decided to go next door to Chuck E Cheese afterwards for some fun.

We had a couple more tokens left and decided to play a game that was really simple and just involved pressing a red button.  We let Patrick press the button and he hit the jackpot.  Pretty funny that the first game Patrick ever plays, he hits the jackpot! He must be pretty lucky!

He loved "driving" the car and didn't want to leave

Turk and Bailey's 3 year check-up

I haven't posted much about Turk and Bailey recently, so I thought I would do a little post about them.  They had their three year appointment last week.  They have both gained a whopping 10 pounds this year!  Turk weighs 92 pounds and Bailey weighs 68 pounds.  They both love Patrick's mealtimes because Patrick thinks its funny to feed them, so i'm sure that's where they have put on the weight!  Bailey isn't overweight, but Turk is 10 pounds overweight so poor guy has to go on a strict diet!  He isn't enjoying it!

They have become such good dogs!  For the most part, they do what they are told and are pretty low key.  Well except for Bailey around food, she sure is persistent!  They also kill the occasional possum which is so gross.  They love "whose that" and their favorite activity is to go on walks with him!  Bailey also loves to chase Patrick around the house when he has food while barking at the same time and Turk loves to take naps.

Kissing Patrick, but probably only because he has food on his face!

Sweet Turk trying to shake with Patrick.  Turk is so laid back around Patrick, its great!
