Fun Weekend

This weekend was my good friend Lauren Hills bachelorette weekend. It was such a fun weekend. It started off with dinner and drinks at Cabana on Friday night. Then we had a shower at Mr. and Mrs. Ragland's house on Saturday. On Saturday night we had a appetizers and drinks at Kara's house and then headed to Sambuca. Downtown was so crowded and the lines were ridiculous so we ended up at Red Door after dinner.

Unfortunately this is the only picture I got from the whole weekend and its only half the group.

Patrick and Michael had lots of boy time this weekend and I really appreciated all of the fun girl time!

On Sunday morning, we went to brunch with Michael's friends from high school and watched the predators game at the Crow's nest. Patrick was all over the place, so Patrick and I had to leave before Gnash got there, but we did get a picture with the Predator's dancers. haha

The boys and Gnash

After a quick nap, Patrick and I headed to Megan's baby shower for Harper (Patrick's future cousin) while Michael went to the ribbon cutting for the downtown park.  One of Michael's good friends, Jonathan Lund, is an engineer on the project so I know Michael had fun supporting him!

This is my little guy eating dinner on Sunday night. Creamed Spinach is one of the only vegetables he will eat and he loves it! I was so tired, and definitely not looking forward to cleaning this messy little guy up but his precious little smile definitely makes it worth it!

I think I am still recovering from this hectic month! Luckily, Michael and I are going on an anniversary and birthday vacation this week, so I can rest and sleep there! It's our first vacation without Patrick. With two working parents and a baby who didn't sleep through the night for the first year, I think its well deserved! I'm a little nervous, since I have only spent 3 nights away from Patrick total since he has been born! We will be away seven nights, but I know he will be in great hands with the grandparents! Can't wait to see fun pictures of their week together!

Easter Weekend

Easter was so fun this year! When you dream of having kids, you think about Santa Claus and Easter Egg hunts and all the other fun things that come along with Holidays! Patrick was so fun to watch and I enjoyed every second of it (maybe more than he did)! It was an exhausting weekend, but so worth it!

We started off the weekend by going to the Eggstravaganzoo at the Zoo on Saturday. We went to the first egg hunt for kids 2 and under. Patrick loved looking at the other kids. We were glad we went to the first hunt because the line to get in the zoo was crazy when we left! We heard on the news that 12,000 people attended!

Ready for the Egg hunt

Hunting for eggs

Oops, they both found one at once. The little girl was really sweet and noticed that Patrick didn't have any eggs, so she let him have that one

Patrick decided that he was happy with his one egg and didn't want to hunt for any more

Then we went to see the Giraffe's since those are Patrick's favorite.

The giraffe came right up to us!

Patrick loved it!

Michael and I had an engagement party to go to that night, so Patrick went to Nana and Grumps house to dye Easter eggs with his aunts and uncles.

We had planned to go to church at 7:30 on Easter morning, but Patrick had so much fun at Nana and Grumps house the night before that he didn't go to bed until 11pm and then he was too tired to sleep and was up from 1-4am! So he slept in until 9 and we missed both Easter services at our church that morning. I love the Easter service, so we were disappointed we couldn't take Patrick.

After we woke up and got ready we went to see what the Easter bunny brought Patrick. The Easter basket is Michael's Easter basket from when he was growing up.

The eggs at the Zoo didn't have anything in them so Patrick was shocked when he shook the Easter egg and heard something inside.

My favorite! Yogurt melts!

Then we headed to brunch at Belle Meade with the Whitson's. Patrick was a little cranky when he was sitting in the high chair so we spent most of our time playing outside at Belle Meade instead of eating the yummy brunch

Playing on the putting green (which I know is a no-no, but he was probably the lightest kid out there :) )

He had fun pulling the flag in and out of the hole

Apparently Michael stuck his tongue out a lot when he was little and Patrick does it a lot too

Then we went home for a nap and Patrick woke up just in time to make it to the Belle Meade Easter egg hunt

Patrick found two Easter eggs and was perfectly content with those two eggs. He sat on the ground and had no desire to find any more.

Then we went over to the Mulloy's for another Easter egg hunt. He had so much fun at this Easter egg hunt because half of the eggs had goldfish in them. He opened the eggs that had cars in them and seemed a little disappointed. It cracked me up that he only wanted the eggs with goldfish :)

He pointed at each egg before going to get it

Since we missed the morning church services at our church, we decided to go to 6:30pm church at the hospital. Patrick stayed with Nana and Grumps while Michael and I went to church. It was actually kind of nice to be able to listen and not worry about a noisy baby during church!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Patrick- 12 Months

Patrick is 12 months old!
We went to the doctor last Friday and Patrick weighs 18 pounds, 15 ounces (10%), 30 3/4 inches tall (85%) and his head is 40%. He also had an ear infection and we had no idea! He has been very consistent in weight, but is climbing the charts in height. Both grandfathers are very tall, so I’m not surprised that he is tall. I’m also not surprised that he is in the tenth percentile in weight. He is just too busy to eat. I think he could go all day and not even notice if he didn’t eat.
Patrick had his first spend the night at Big and Allie's a couple weeks ago. He loves trying to lift heavy things right now, so he is trying to lift his overnight bag in this picture
We made the change to table foods this month and it has been an adjustment for Patrick. I think he might have eaten baby food forever! He is a picky eater and won’t even touch most things I put on his plate. The doctor told me to continue to cook vegetables and just put them on his plate so he sees them, but not to force him to try anything. It’s definitely a challenge for me! I get home from work around 5:30 or 5:45 and then immediately cook dinner for Patrick and it’s pretty frustrating when he won’t eat any of it! Especially since I have so little time with him, it seems like a waste to spend time cooking. Hopefully it will pay off! For the past couple weeks, Michael has been home earlier, so it has been an extra treat when he cooks! The only things I could tolerate when I was pregnant with Patrick were grilled cheeses, milkshakes, apple juice, and crackers. So I guess it’s not too surprising that the only things Patrick wants to eat are grilled cheeses, yogurt, milk, apple sauce, bananas, mashed potatoes and any kind of crackers or bread. He is also obsessed with yogurt melts! So obsessed that he has meltdowns in target if sees me take them off the shelf and not give him any. I haven’t tried any of Patrick’s baby food, but I have tried the yogurt melts since he is so obsessed with them. I have to say that I don’t blame him, they are pretty good!

We made the change to whole milk and sippy cups last week. I also stopped nursing Patrick a couple weeks ago. I had been slowly weaning him and was just down to the night feeding. He cried for the first week, but did great last week. He still has a night time bottle, but we will conquer that another month! Otherwise he is on sippy cups!
This is the face I got when I tried to pull out the dirt he had just put in his mouth
Patrick has also slept through the night all but 2 nights this month! I never thought we would get here, but he has become a fabulous sleeper! He goes to bed around 8:00 or 8:15pm (any later than that and he will be up all night!) and sleeps til about 6:30am. He also takes two pretty good naps during the day. One at 9:30/10am and an afternoon nap at 2:30/3pm. His morning nap is normally a little longer than the afternoon nap.
Patrick has 8 teeth. He got his eighth a couple days after his 11 month post. I also see a molar that is about to pop through and I am nervous about it! Hopefully it doesn’t affect him that much!
His favorite toys are books, Sesame Street stuffed animals, building blocks and his cozy coupe. He loves to pull anything out of a container and put it back in. He loves closing doors and going up and down steps. He loves to climb on everything! He knows how to get off the couch by himself.
He loves Turk and Bailey. Bailey is starting to like Patrick a little more, especially during meal times. Bailey rushes upstairs and sits by his high chair in the morning and when we get home after work because she knows it’s time for Patrick to eat. Anything Patrick doesn’t want goes on the floor for Turk and Bailey. Turk misses most meal times, since he likes to sleep through breakfast and dinner (if they have been outside all day). Unlike Bailey who never misses Patrick’s meal time.
Dropping food on the floor for Turk and Bailey

This is the reaction I got when I told him no...hysterical laughter

We just made the switch to big boy shoes instead of the soft soled shoes. Patrick would throw a fit every time we put him in big boy shoes. It took a while, but I think he has finally gotten used to walking in them!
I know I say this every month, but Patrick is at such a fun age. He wants to be playing and moving constantly, but its so fun! He loves playing chase with Michael and I. Its also adorable when I do chores around the house because he just follows me from room to room babbling to himself and playing with whatever toy he comes across. He is so cute and so fun and I just never want to forget a minute of it!
