Conor's First Flag Football Game

Conor has been begging to play flag football and he finally got his chance! He chose the Mud Dogs for his team name (just like big brother). The jersey's weren't in yet so we wore Saint Henry shirts to the Jamboree.

It was SO hot outside, but Conor had the best time. In the last game of the Jamboree he pulled every single flag in the series (7 flags!). He was a defensive machine! Go Conor!

These two were so funny playing while watching Peyton's game.

Caitie's First Soccer Game

Sweet little Caitie had her first soccer game on Saturday. She was so excited about her pink shoelaces and her pink ball.  However, once we got out there she was so scared and refused to participate. Her godmother came to cheer her on and was eventually able to get her out there!

She was so close to scoring a goal! We were so proud of her for getting out there. Go Caitie!

Patrick's New Cast

On Thursday we went back to Vanderbilt for a new cast. We took a few pictures of the old cast in the waiting room.

The doctor gave him a choice of keeping his current cast or getting a brand new waterproof cast that hit below the elbow. He has been dying to write with his right hand and to play sports so we chose to get a new cast! He chose purple this time. He should have this cast on for another 3 weeks and then hopefully move to a brace. We also got the all clear to play soccer and cross country. Excited to get back into the swing of things!

Back at cross country in the new cast!

Father Ryan Game

We headed to the first Father Ryan game on Friday night. The kids were really excited to be able to go to a game after a year off for covid. The older boys had a blast running around with their friends. It was a hot and muggy night but we had a blast!

This sweet little girl had all the snacks and thought it was so fun!

Conor's First Lost Tooth

This sweet little boy lost his first tooth! His new tooth had already grown in behind it and he was so excited to lose it. Mrs. Dunn pulled it out at their house. He was pretty excited about the tooth fairy bringing him $20.

Then a couple days later his Kindergarten teacher pulled the next one! Two teeth in one week! This sweet little boy is growing up!

First Day of School 2021

Back to school for the Mulloy's! Patrick is in 5th, Peyton is in 3rd, Conor is in Kindergarten and Caitie is starting her first year at Saint Henry in prek-3.

The two big boys started on Monday with a half day. They were both really excited about their new teachers. Peyton has the same third grade teacher that both Patrick and Michael had when they were in the 3rd grade.

Conor and Caitie started with a half day on Tuesday. Caitie has been ready to start school for months. She is going two days a week this year and is so excited! She insisted on doing this pose for her school picture!

Excited to start the new school year!

First Broken Bone

Somehow we had escaped having a broken bone for over ten years. But the streak has ended. Patrick broke his right arm during a football drill on Saturday. It was a very bad break but he was such a champ. It took the full day in the ER to get him squared away.

He was so brave and did such a great job. He was pretty queasy after the anesthesia and struggled to stand up and walk. He will be in the hard cast for about a month and then will need to be in a soft cast for a while too. It wasn't the way we wanted to start his first season of football or the way we wanted to start the school year. However, we are just happy he is healthy and healing well!

He also had his first scrimmage against CPA. He was a little sad to watch and not be able to participate. Hopefully we will get back in there soon!

Heal fast buddy!

Great Smoky Mountains 2021 (Part 2)

After our afternoon hike we headed to Anakeesta. We rode the sky lift up which always makes me nervous with the little ones!

We explored Anakeesta for a few hours and the kids had a blast running around.

They always love the obstacle courses.

It was a little challenging for Caitie but the boys were great helpers.

Such great views!

The hanging bridges are always so fun

We saw a great sunset while waiting to eat dinner.

Shortly after sunset there was a huge dark cloud overhead. We both checked the weather, not wanting to get stuck on the mountain. We didn't see anything in the forecast and carried on waiting for our turn to be seated for dinner. As soon as we were seated for dinner we heard a huge boom and saw lightning right next to the window. It was a huge storm that was right on top of us! We sat at the dinner table for two hours trying to wait out the storm. The restaurant closed and we were forced out to wait with the masses. We ended up taking the shuttle down around midnight. We were in the very last bus! The kids were exhausted but all acted wonderfully, which I was very thankful for! Nothing like being stuck on a mountain with 4 kids for hours on end!

The next morning we slept in after the very late night at Anakeesta. We grabbed some lunch and then went on a short little hike at our usual spot.

We arrived home on Thursday afternoon just in time for football practice and saw a fun surprise from Big for Caitie. She loved it!

Although we had a great time on the trip it wasn't our most successful trip to the Smoky Mountains. Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong. We were locked out of our room for the first hour of the trip because the lock malfunctioned. Peyton got a poisonous spider bite that caused his leg to swell out  (we spent the day home at the pediatrician getting it looked at). We got stuck at Anakeesta for hours. And then to top it off we had about 1 million ants inhabit our car from a lovely person dumping margaritas right next to our tire. We spent a couple hours cleaning it out before packing up and heading back to Nashville. Even though pretty much everything went wrong, I am glad we went. The kids will definitely remember this trip!
