Peyton- 5 Months

Can't believe my precious little Peyton is already 5 months old!

He is such a sweet and laid back baby. He giggles and squeals all the time. His squeals are really loud and shrill, but I think its because he is trying to be heard over Patrick, Turk and Bailey.

He was doing really well sleeping.....and then I went back to work. I figured it would happen since it happened with Patrick. My boys seem to really like to nurse and rebel a little when I go back to work. So, he is now eating 2 to 3 times a night which is pretty darn tough when I am also working. Not to mention Patrick is still getting up in the middle of the night 75% of the time, so there is very little sleeping in our house right now. I'm pretty used to it though, so i'm surviving. However, Peyton is a much better sleeper than Patrick was at this age (or has ever been) so that is good. Peyton is ready for bed at exactly 7:15 every night. I end up having to push back his bed time because I can't seem to get everything done at night when I get home at 6. It's tough having two kids on such completely different schedules!

Oops, he toppled over :)

Discovering his feet

Mom, I am so over these pictures

I'd much rather eat this pillow instead :)

He is now to the stage where he is grabbing everything and wants to put everything in his mouth! He is also so strong! I can't wear any necklaces when I am around him because he rips all of them off and breaks them! Sweet little boy might be a tough one!

Love you Peyton! I am having so much fun enjoying all your sweet smiles and giggles!

Rolling Over

A couple days after I went back to work, this little cutie rolled over! He has been working on it for a couple months now and finally was able to do it! I was so happy I was able to see him roll over for the first time (he waited til my day off)! He is all about it now and is rolling over constantly. Once he rolls to his stomach he can't roll to his back and it infuriates him. It's pretty funny! Unfortunately, I didn't think to get a video of his first couple times to roll over, but I did take a video recently of him. This video is with a few weeks of practice, but I still think its pretty cute!

He also tried out the exersaucer for the first time. Sweet little boy was in amazement.

Michael's Softball Tournament

Michael plays in a softball league with a bunch of his friends from Father Ryan every year. This year they not only won their league, but also won the city tournament. The boys and I went to watch the tournament and Patrick had a great time watching daddy and playing on the playground.

Here are few shots of the team

A few action shots. Michael is the pitcher on the team

Patrick's First Movie

We took Patrick to see his first movie this week. He is still a little young, but we thought we would give it a try. It went surprisingly well! Since he loves the movie Cars so much, we thought Planes would be the perfect movie for his first time. This Saturday Michael and Patrick built Dusty (the main character) at the Home Depot Kids Workshop, so he was really excited about seeing Dusty.

I took him to school for a couple hours hoping to wear him out in the morning. When I picked him up he was pretty tired, but then got a second wind and decided not to take a nap. He fell asleep on the way to the movie for about 10 minutes and was pretty groggy the whole time. He sat still almost the whole movie which was really surprising! I'm pretty sure the numerous amounts of junk food I let him eat helped a little :) Patrick hit his limit about 10 minutes before the end of the movie. We decided to head out when Patrick asked if we would turn off the T.V. multiple times. I was pretty bummed about missing the last few minutes, but I didn't want to ruin the movie for everyone else.

Sweet little boy crashed on the way home

And yes, that is orange and blue M&M's smeared all over his face :) Glad we got to have some one on one time with my big boy before I go back to work!

Patrick's First Week of Pre-school

Patrick had his first week at Belle Meade United Methodist last week. This was the best picture we were able to get of him on his first day of school. Can't believe how fast he is growing!

Patrick was really nervous about the first day of school. He clung to me really tightly when Michael and I dropped him off. But once he saw the train table he ran off to play with it. I was so nervous about how he would do his first day but was excited that drop off went as well as it did. The teachers said he cried when he realized that Michael and I were gone, but did really well the rest of the time. I only took him for a short amount of time so he could get used to it and not be overwhelmed.

The second day didn't go as well as the first and he was so nervous to go back. He cried and cried when I dropped him off and kept asking to "go back to Pat Pat's house please." It was so hard to drop him off and I was really tempted to take him back home with me. But, I didn't want him to miss out on his first week so I resisted and planned to pick him up after only a few hours. While I was on my way to pick him up, the teacher called and said he woke up from his nap and had an anxiety attack and cried so hard he threw up. Luckily, I was already on my way to get him. When I got there he was sitting on the teachers lap and was pretty upset. I felt so bad for him.

He did a little better on Wednesday, but there were still a lot of tears involved at drop off time. He still refused to eat at school and hadn't eaten anything at school in three days. He was starving every day I picked him up. Luckily, I took an extra week and a half of maternity leave to get him oriented so I have been able to pick him up early.

Thursday went so much better and there were no tears at drop off! He was still a little sad, but I felt much better about leaving him at school for a few hours. He also took one bite of corn at lunch! Progress for sure!

Friday went wonderful! Michael dropped him off and he didn't cry and ran off to play! He also ate two bowls of cereal at morning snack! Yay!! Still didn't eat any lunch, but maybe he will get used to it soon.

I start back at work on Thursday, so I am a little worried about Patrick having to go a full day. I don't think he has been to a full day of school since April! I'm really hoping he will start to try his lunch so he won't be so hungry!

Love this sweet little boy! I know he will love school once he gets the hang of it! And luckily he will still get to see Margaret and all of his other friends when we drop off Peyton every morning!

Who's Who?

Below is a picture of Patrick and Peyton in the same bubble at 4 months old. Can you tell who's who?

Peyton is on the left and Patrick is on the right. It's crazy how much they look like each other! But you can definitely tell that Peyton is a little bigger than Patrick was at this age.

Can't believe it has been two years since Patrick was this small. It goes by so fast! Trying to soak up every moment of baby time while Peyton is this small! Love these precious little boys!

Summer Fun

Some fun summer moments and random iphone pictures:

Patrick and Michael have been building cars at Home Depot on Saturday mornings. Patrick loves to help his daddy build. How cute are they!?!

We have been swimming a lot with Big and Allie. A little hot for Peyton, who wasn't very excited about being in a picture.

My big boy is really loving Mickey Mouse right now (and brushing his teeth)

Peyton and I joined Michael out for lunch one day

Patrick loves laying with Peyton

Blowing bubbles outside

Throwing rocks in the pond at the creek. One of Patrick's favorite things to do

Bailey catching some rays

He insisted upon falling asleep next to his car that he built with Michael

Loving on Peyton

Patrick wanted to take a self picture of Peyton and Pat Pat sitting on mom's lap

Loved spending so much time with my boys this summer!
