Disney on Ice

We bought tickets to Disney on Ice months ago. We had originally planned to go with some friends, but the friend got covid right before the show.  We had such a busy schedule with sports and the house that we were exhausted and thought about bailing. Last minute we decided to try and have girls go. I'm glad we made the effort to go. The seats were amazing and Caitie had an absolute blast.

Fun Saturday night out with the girls!

Conor's First Cross Country Meet

Conor ran in his first cross country meet (along with his older brothers) this weekend.  We cheered for him at three different points and every single time he gave the biggest wave and smile. He was so excited to have everyone cheering for him. He even told Big after the run that he didn't cheer loud enough for him!

He was so excited with how he did in the race and told us he was SO good! He was also very excited about one of his best buddies finishing first! Love this little guy!

Patrick and Peyton also ran in the race.

Of course we had to get Kona ice after the meet. It was a gorgeous and cool day which is so rare for these cross country meets that are normally 1000 degrees!

Proud of these boys!

Natchez Trace Parkway

We had the most fun Labor Day weekend. Friday started out with cross country practice for Patrick and flag football for Peyton and Conor.  After sports we headed to Tailgate brewery and the kids played and had milkshakes with a friend.

The next morning we headed to Loveless Cafe for breakfast. We hadn't been there in so long!

After breakfast we drove.a little of the Natchez Trace to hike a few waterfalls. They were all very short and easy for Caitie to hike.  First on the list was Jackson Falls.

The kids had a blast and played in the waterfall for an hour. I think they would have continued to play if we hadn't pulled them out to go to the next one!

The next stop on the list was Fall Hollow. There is an observation deck to see a portion of the waterfall, but we hiked down to play in the bottom part of the waterfall. There isn't a clear path and the kids had fun finding their way down.

Caitie was excited about the baby waterfall on the way down.

We made it to the pool. As soon as we got there we saw a snake climb beneath one of the trees. I was surprised the kids still wanted to get in the water! They had a lot of fun and it was the perfect size for Caitie.

We had planned to go all the way to Tupelo and stop at a few more longer hikes, but some friends called and asked us to go swimming in the afternoon. The kids were pretty muddy and wet from playing in the waterfalls, so we decided to head back and try Tupelo again another time. Of course we had to take a picture with the National Park sign on the way back.

It was a really fun day and just what we needed after a pretty stressful start to the school year!
