Thanksgiving Florida Keys Trip- Biscayne National Park (Part 6)

On Thanksgiving morning, we checked out of our hotel in Key Largo and headed toward Biscayne National Park. We set up a boat tour to head to Boca Chita Key. It was a gorgeous day and it felt so fun to be out on the water on Thanksgiving.

Boca Chita Key was really crowded on Thanksgiving. It is a getaway from Miami and people park their boats and hang out on the island. There was no where to park our boat when we arrived, but our Captain knew everyone on the island and was able to hook up to another boat.

Captain Eddie was our captain for the day and he was so great! He really knew the National Park really well.

What a way to spend Thanksgiving day!

We took the trail on the island, but they had just had a large storm and there was lots of standing water and tons of mosquitos! We pretty much had to run through the trail and then jump in the water after the trail.

The water felt so nice! It was fun to swim around.

We also took the boat to Elliot Key and snorkeled around. I forgot to take pictures, but the boys found some amazing fish. The girls sat on the boat and enjoyed the sunshine.

After our morning at Biscayne National Park we headed back to Fort Lauderdale, swam and ate a really nice dinner at the resort.

It was an amazing vacation and I am so thankful we were able to get away!

Thanksgiving Florida Keys Trip- Everglades National Park (Part 5)

We made a day trip to Everglades National Park, which is about an hour from Key Largo. We had the first airboat tour of the day. It was so hot that we were glad we took the first boat. We saw so many alligators and had a great time. It was the kids favorite activity of the trip!

We also got off the boat to explore an old house. It's been in a lot of movies and was cool to see.

We didn't hike any trails this time, since the kids were ready to get back to the beach. We stopped by the national park entrance store.

On our way back to Key Largo we stopped at a really cute fruit stand called Robert is Here. The children all got fruit milkshakes or smoothies. It was really good!

This marks our 14th national park. It was a really fun experience!

Thanksgiving Florida Keys Trip- Key Largo (Part 4)

We left Key West and headed toward Key Largo where we planned to stay for a few nights. We planned a few stops on the way to Key Largo.

We stopped at the No Name Pub for some fun drinks and brunch.

The bar is covered in dollar bills. The two little kids hung theirs on the wall.

After brunch we stopped at Robbie's to feed the Tarpon's. This was a crazy experience. The boys all fed the tarpon's and it was a little scary for them. They come out of nowhere!

We also stopped at Morado Bay Beach Cafe. It was a gorgeous afternoon. We head the best meal of the trip in the most gorgeous setting!

More roosters. The kids really loved seeing them.

We made it to the resort in time for a gorgeous sunset. The resort gives a complimentary glass of champagne and all the guests watch the sunset together. Its a really sweet experience.

The boys decided to jump right in the water before it closed for sunset.

We headed over to the pool for a night swim.

The next day we hung out at the resort. The kids loved playing with all the water toys they had available for the guests. They kayaked, played on the stand up paddle boards and played in the sand. They keys aren't known for their beaches, but this resort had the perfect beach for the kids to play.

The view from the balcony in our room was absolutely stunning. The water is gorgeous here!

That afternoon we took a tiki hut tour for sunset. It was so fun. We danced talked, swam and had the most gorgeous veiws! We had the best time!

The kids got to drive the Tiki boat and ring the bell and they thought it was so fun. The drove in circles and had complete control. It was really cute!

The boys got in the water for sunset. It was pretty cold, but so peaceful!

Family pic with the boys in the water and the girls on the boat.

See those two little guys in the back?

This little one wore herself out?

We woke up the next morning and took a quick adventure to the Everglades. We enjoyed this view for a little while in the morning.

After the Everglades we came right back to the beach and played.

The kids were so excited to try this out!

Spending our last sunset at this resort in the water. The weather was perfect and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous. It was a beautiful night!

See you Key Largo. You were wonderful!
