Peyton's First Day at Belle Meade Children's Center

Peyton started his first day and Patrick started his second year at Belle Meade United Methodist this week.

It was so very sad to leave Margaret’s because both of my boys have really loved staying with her, but dropping off in two different places was getting a little difficult. We had a little bump in the road when I went to drop off Peyton on his first day and his name wasn’t on the list.  Turns out they moved him to an infant room instead of the toddler room.  I have to admit, I was not happy about the decision to move him to the infant room. He seemed like a giant compared to the other children who are about to turn 1.

We discussed our concerns with the school and they observed him and completely agreed that he should be in the toddler room. He was crying a lot in the infant room and it just wasn't a great fit for him. They moved him to the toddler room the next week and he seems to enjoy it a lot.  He still cries at drop-off (which he wasn't doing at Margaret's) but I am hoping that it passes as he gets a little more used to the school.

Patrick is doing great in his new classroom.  He has three really good friends who he talks about a lot.

I didn't make signs for their first day of school this year (oops!), but I did take a few pictures.  The pictures are after their first day of school since Patrick was not willing to cooperate that morning. So they have their special afternoon treat of fruit snacks in all the pictures, oh well.

Peyton is getting so big I can hardly stand it!

Afternoon hugs, Patrick was telling Peyton all about his new school

Alright, its fruit snack time

Peyton- 16 Months

My sweet little Peyton is 16 months old.  Time is flying by and he is continuing to grow like a weed! People who haven't seen him in a couple months always comment about how tall he is and his hair, which is growing longer by the minute!

He also is trying really hard to talk! The words he can say are dog, ball, mom, dad, pa pa (pat pat), bock (for juice box), shoe, nack (for fruit snacks), no, peas (for please), cook (for cookie monster), more, all gone, bye bye.

He has started waking up in the middle of the night again and i'm not sure if that is because he isn't used to his new room/house yet or if he is teething....guess we will have to work on that. He still goes to bed great and I can just put him in his crib and he will fall asleep on his own, its wonderful! He goes to bed between 8 and 8:30 pm and gets up between 6 and 6:30 am.

He still loves cookie monster and giggles so hard when we play with the cookie monster doll.  His favorite toy to play with is still balls and he loves to throw them around. He really loves the ball pit we have. He has started trying to play with Patrick's train table. He LOVES to play outside, but only for short period of times because he gets so hot.  He loves to ride his bikes with Patrick.  They ride together and "crash" in the same spot.  It's precious.  He loves bath time.  We sing a song about bath time and he does a dance with his hands in the air all the way to the bath.  It's the cutest thing ever!

He loves to give hugs.  If you ask him for a hug, he always runs over to give one.  He is BUSY! He always has to be doing something, even if it is just walking back and forth from you to a chair. He also has a really funny little quirk.  He loves to sit on everything.  He will try to sit on all of his toys, even small cars, balls, his brother, everything

Still a wonderful eater!  Pretty much eats anything you put in front of him.  Although he has started begging for fruit snacks already (yikes!).

I would love to keep him at this age forever, because he is so cute, so cuddly and so fun!

Love you Peyton!
