Harper's First Birthday

Our nephew, Harper, turned 1 last week and his adorable Cat and the Hat party was this weekend.

The weather was gorgeous, so Peyton got to attend.

Typical Friday Night

Here is a little glimpse of what our weekend nights look like these days.

Patrick saying "hi baby" over and over while tickling and sharing toys with baby. Sweet, right?

And here is two minutes later

Even though it can be a little hectic, I sure do love my boys!

And later that Friday night as we were watching baseball with Uncle Matt, Patrick entertained us by using his Mr. Potato Head bucket as a helmet

Never a dull moment with these two boys!

Mark's Graduation and Mulloy Cousin Reunion

The Mulloy cousins had a special party for graduations, confirmations and new babies.

The grandchildren and great grandchildren. Unfortunately, Peyton couldn't make it since he still can't be in enclosed spaces with too many people.

A few days later, we decided to make the trek to Knoxville for Mark's graduation. We left during nap time on Thursday and the boys did great! Patrick slept for the first 45 minutes and Peyton slept the whole way!

For the part of the trip which Patrick did not sleep, he named every truck we saw... "red truck, white truck, blue truck, two white trucks, dump truck, etc for a full hour and a half. The kid loves trucks!!

Sweet Peyton on his first road trip

Denton decided she was up for the challenge of keeping both boys while Michael and I went to dinner. I think I asked her about 10 times if she was sure she wanted to keep both of them. So we dropped them off and headed to dinner at Ye Old Steakhouse with Michael's family. Denton sent us this picture of Patrick in a fire truck while we were at dinner. A little boys dream...to ride in a fire a truck!

When we got to Denton's condo, Patrick was laughing, giggling and running around like crazy playing with Reagan

He didn't want to leave. He had a blast with Aunt Denton!

The next day, Michael went to the graduation while I stayed with his grandparents and the boys.

This captures Patrick's personality just perfectly! Showing off and dancing for everyone!

Then we headed home. The car ride back was not so successful and Patrick cried for an hour and a half! Yikes! Hopefully our car ride to the beach next week isn't as painful!

7 Weeks

Well I missed Peyton's 6 week post because it has been crazy around here! I guess that is how life is with two boys who both don't sleep very much!

Peyton is still eating every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. The little guy is so hungry! I am curious to see what his weight is at his 2 month appointment next week! He also cries A LOT. I talked to the doctor this morning and he thinks he has a dairy allergy or intolerance so I have to cut out dairy. I had to do the same with Patrick and it was so hard! I am hoping that he outgrows it soon! There is also a possibility that he has a severe peanut allergy. The doctor said it's rare that a child would feel the effects of a mom eating peanuts through breastmilk, but since Peyton had a really terrible inconsolable night and could barely breathe after I ate peanut butter, we can't rule it out. Hopefully his crying isn't colic and we can make him feel better soon!

Patrick has also not been sleeping. He had a bad cough last week and would cough so hard that he would wake himself up and throw up! Not fun!

Michael went out of town for one night last week. I was really nervous about it since both the boys were not sleeping. It was terrible and I almost had a mental breakdown definitely a challenge! Patrick hates bedtime so I knew I needed to try and get Peyton down first before Patrick. But, Peyton started crying and then Patrick started crying because he couldn't hear Thomas the Train and they both continued crying for an hour and a half. I tried everything possible! I finally got Patrick to bed around 10:30pm and then worked on getting Peyton to bed. I got Peyton to bed around 11:30pm and went to sleep myself. I got an hour nap before Patrick woke up at 12:30am and cried for 30 minutes, which woke up Peyton. The cycle went on and on until I finally got to bed around 5am with Peyton in the bassinet beside me and Patrick in the bed with me. The boys both woke up at 6:30am and I was exhausted! I think I am still recovering, which is why I have no pictures from the last week. At least I know I can survive the worst of nights. I'm sure it will get better as we work on getting Peyton on a schedule!

Fun with the boys

Patrick has a lot of energy and has really been acting out when he is bored and not challenged. Since Peyton can't go anywhere (except outdoors), we have been creating random tasks for Patrick with things we have around the house.

Here is one of his favorites, he called it his car slide. It's just a tissue box and paper towel roll taped together. He played with it for more than thirty minutes which is definitely a success!

We also have had fun painting wooden choo choo's

We have had such pretty weather and we have been having fun outside

I took both the boys to Cheekwood to see the trains. They loved it.

Patrick had so much fun talking to Peyton about the trains

Brotherly Love

Patrick has been really sweet with Peyton. Much better than I expected. He is always asking where baby is and wants to "carry baby" all the time. Here are a few pictures of the two of them together that I haven't shared yet.

Peyton gave Patrick the trains that are in his bassinet in the picture below. Patrick decided that since Peyton gave them to him that he would "share choo choo's with baby." Instead of putting them in the bassinet Patrick hurled them into the bassinet. Sweet sentiment though! Since this picture Patrick has learned to be a little more gentle with Peyton.

Patrick gives Peyton about 50 kisses a day. It is really sweet. He looks up at us for praise after he is gentle with Peyton and gives him kisses.

The other night Michael was at a work event and we were reading books in Patrick's room. It was almost bedtime but Patrick asked to carry baby so I put them in his chair together. Patrick got so excited and kept saying "cheese momma" so I ran to get my camera to take a few pictures of them.

After I picked up Peyton, Patrick kept saying "more cheese momma, carry baby." For those of you who don't speak toddler language, he was asking me to take more pictures while he carried Peyton. So I decided to take full advantage! I had ordered matching outfits for the boys, that I had planned on Patrick wearing to the hospital one of the days. Since Peyton came earlier than expected I wasn't prepared and completely forgot about the outfits. Peyton is a month old in these pictures and I knew he would outgrow the outfit soon, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to change them really fast and take a few pictures. It was pretty late and way past bedtime, but when the opportunity arises...

So here are a few pictures from our impromptu little photoshoot. Patrick acted a little shy after I changed them into matching outfits, but they are still cute!

After the photoshoot Peyton was crying so hard, so Patrick jumped up on the bed and started talking to him. Peyton immediately stopped crying and just stared at Patrick. So sweet!

These little moments make it all worth it!
