Father's Day

We had a great day celebrating the three wonderful dad's/grandfather's in our lives. We started out the day making a trip to the donut shop to pick up donuts so we could let Michael sleep in (which he is never able to do!).

After donuts, we headed for a morning swim and lunch with Big, Allie and Aunt Denton. The boys always ask when we can go swimming with "Biggie" again so this was the perfect start to do the day for them. The pool was pretty empty, so they had a blast running around, swimming, and going down the slide.

After lunch, we changed and headed for a birthday party. The boys bounced in a bounce house, ate cake and played with friends.

After the birthday party we headed to Nana and Grumps for dinner and some more swimming. I'm pretty sure this was the greatest day ever for the boys. Swimming with both sets of grandparents and a birthday party with friends. Not sure it could get much better for them :)

Unfortunately, I forgot to take any pictures of the day. But, Sharon is great about taking pictures so here are a few of the boys swimming at Nana and Grumps house.

Happy father's day Big, Grumps and Michael!

Monster Jam

Michael surprised the two big boys with a trip to Monster Jam last Saturday night. The boys were so excited to have a night out on the town. We parked at Michael's work garage which is at the entrance to the pedestrian bridge. As soon as we parked it started raining pretty heavily. The storm passed through pretty quickly so we waited it out in Michael's building. After the storm, we made the trek across the pedestrian bridge. Michael and I did not anticipate how long this would take with short little legs. I think it took us about 30 minutes to make it across the bridge. The boys were just in amazement looking at the bridge and the water and were in no hurry at all.

We finally made it to the stadium about 10 minutes late. The tickets specifically said that mobile tickets were accepted and there was no need to print. We tried to go into the club level entrance near the pedestrian bridge exit and were very rudely yelled at for trying to use our mobile tickets. We were told that mobile tickets were only accepted at the opposite side of the stadium at gate 1. Yikes!! It was about 95 degrees outside and the boys were in no mood to walk all the way around the stadium to gate 1 and then walk all the way around the stadium again to get to the club level entrance. Michael and I ended up carrying them most the way. By the time we finally made it to our seats we were about 35 minutes late. It was definitely a rough start to the night!

We finally got to our seats and the boys were in awe of the trucks. But it was LOUD! I was really glad that we left Conor had home with Big and Allie, because i'm not sure he could have handled the noise. Patrick is extremely sensitive to sounds so he had a really tough time. The headphones we purchased (for $40!?!?) really cancelled out the noise, but both boys complained that the headphones hurt their head. Patrick only lasted about 15 minutes before he and I went into the club level to watch it on the big screen. I will definitely prepare better next time.

Peyton didn't seem very bothered by the sound and had a blast just bobbing his head to the music and watching the trucks flip over and crash. He thought it was the best night ever! Patrick said he thought it would have been really fun if it wasn't so loud.

I can't say I ever imagined myself at a monster truck show, but it was definitely a fun experience!

This little boy could not have had more fun

Right after a monster truck did a full back flip and then flipped over and crashed on it's hood.

Strolling back over the pedestrian bridge. "Look mom it's the Batman building...AWESOME!" Haha, gotta love little boys :)

We would definitely do this again, but would purchase ear buds ahead of time and print out our tickets in advance. Lesson learned!

PWC Promotion Day

PWC Promotion day was last week and we had a blast celebrating. Michael was promoted to Director of Tax and I could not be more proud of him! He has worked so hard for this and I am just thrilled for him.

PWC really goes all out for their promotion days. All of his teammates decorated his office. Michael had a champagne toast in the morning, lunch at the palm and then PWC rented out the top of Rock Bottom Brewery for the afternoon celebration. Spouses of those who were promoted were invited to Rock Bottom.

Some of the tax group

It was such a pretty day and such perfect weather! It was also really fun to watch the powerboats practicing on the cumberland for the "Thunder on the Cumberland" boat race.

Mark was also promoted to Senior, so they were calling it "bro-motion day"

After Rock Bottom Brewery, we headed to Troubadours for some karoake. It was like 5pm by this time, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Michael and Mark had a blast getting up there and performing for everyone.

A pretty intense version of Rocky Top :)

And their second act.

Michael will probably be totally embarrassed about these videos, but I just had to...

Congrats Michael! We are so proud of you!

Cheekwood

We had a fun little morning at Cheekwood last week. But, as you can tell from the kids cheeks...it was HOT!

Umbrella playhouse

We had a little picnic snack next to the "Lego Playhouse" as the kids referred to it.

Such a goofball

Whew it was hot!

And of course their favorite part of Cheekwood was the trains. It was time for Conor's nap and I had to beg the two big boys to leave, with the promise of coming back really soon of course.

Patrick commented that he loves Cheekwood, but that we should come back after the sun has gone down next time. I have to agree with you little buddy!

Conor's 12 Month Photos

We scheduled Conor's 12 month photos closer to his birthday, but unfortunately the weather was very unpredictable so these were more like 15 month photos.  He was totally uncooperative during these pictures and only wanted to be held. So lots of family shots instead of pictures of him by himself.

Precious boy

He was very skeptical of anyone taking his picture

Can't believe my little baby is this big!

Loves his daddy

Peyton was great during the pictures! Such a smiley little guy. These were also his 3 year old pictures.

Patrick wanted to play with sticks the whole time, so we only have a couple of photos with him and sticks...we are definitely a boy family!

We had to bribe Conor with our phone for him to even sit with his brothers :)

I was surprised at the family shots we were able to capture. Everyone is looking at the camera and giving at least a little smirk :)

My favorite one

Love these boys

These two have been the best of friends this summer. I just love their precious relationship.

We always need a throwing pictures. Our boys favorite thing :)

It is so much work to take professional pictures with three small boys and I have to admit that I always sort of dread it. But, after seeing the photos I am always so glad that we have captured our precious little family.
