Oh Christmas Tree

Patrick's school has a Christmas Tree lot right outside of the school and Patrick begged to get a Christmas tree there.  So before Michael left for his conference in Florida, we headed to pick out our tree.

The boys settled on this tree and were really excited about it

Michael managed to get the Christmas tree in by himself

Patrick was really into helping with the lights and ornaments this year. Peyton was all about breaking everything :)

Sweet little guy fell down the steps while we were decorating the Christmas tree and got a bad cut on his face! When he woke up in the morning it was all swollen! Poor little guy!

School Pictures

This year the boy's school decided to use a new photographer. In the past they have taken the kids out to a prepared backdrop and taken their picture. However, this year they decided to take the pictures in their rooms where they are most comfortable. The photographer only shoots in black and white, so a little different than what we are used to. But, I absolutely love the pictures and it is probably the best picture I have of both of them!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! Michael played in his annual Turkey bowl at Father Ryan while the boys and I played at home.

Then we headed to brunch at Hillwood with the Mulloy's. Which was so yummy!

After brunch we headed home and took some much needed naps. Peyton was up most the night so we were all exhausted and full. After brunch we headed to my Aunt Mary's house to eat dinner with my side of the family. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures! But the food was yummy and the boys had a blast running around their house burning some energy. It was the first Thanksgiving since Michael and I have been married that we did not travel. I have to say that it was really nice and we definitely enjoyed the extra time at home to all take a nap!

Peyton- 19 Months

Peyton is 19 months old!

Sweet little boy has been sick a lot this month. He has still been in pretty good spirits, but isn't sleeping that well. I had a scary experience at night with him. Peyton had a great day at school and was playing well until bed time. I put him down and then a few hours later I heard really loud wheezing sounds coming from his room. I went in there to check on him and he was gasping for air over and over again. He wasn't awake, but it made me extremely nervous, so I opened his door and listened carefully to him. He woke up again really gasping for air and I ran in there to get him. I gave him some water, tylenol and we opened the freezer door to get him to breathe in a little cool air. It seemed to work, because he fell asleep next to me in the bed afterwards and stopped wheezing. When I took him to the doctor the next day he was having a lot of trouble breathing. They said it was really bad croup and they needed to give him steroid shots. The doctor warned me that these shots hurt pretty badly. Peyton never really cries at shots, but this shot must have been different because he screamed bloody murder for about 15 minutes. It was terrible. He also wouldn't sleep and just felt really bad after the shot. The next day he also screamed for four hours straight. Peyton doesn't cry much (unless he wants juice boxes:) ) so for him to cry that long was extremely unusual. Luckily he is doing much better now and it seems to have cleared up.

We had one good day at the park before the cold set in this month

So excited to be swinging like big brother

Peyton is trying to learn how to jump. So I videotaped a few of his attempts it is just precious! I could eat this child up!

I have been pretty tired lately, so when Michael has to work late the boys and I typically eat cereal and yogurt for dinner (terrible I know). It is extremely tough to get dinner ready and prepared when we get home at 6pm and both kids are screaming they are so hungry.  So this is my solution for the next couple months :)  Peyton doesn't seem to mind though and it seems to be his favorite dinner!

Peyton does not drink any milk except for in cereal, so I consider it a little win when he drinks up the rest of his milk out of his favorite tire bowl.

Love this sweet little boy!

Fall Pictures

We had our fall pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. Peyton is 18 months old and Patrick is 3 and a half in these photos. It was late October but about 95 degrees outside. We were burning up! We took the pictures late in the afternoon, which probably wasn't the best idea. Both boys were not feeling it! Maybe we should stick to early mornings!

We took the family shots first, which they actually smiled for

Precious little buddies. They really love to hug each other and hug a lot!

All Peyton wanted to do after the first couple family shots was run and jump around through the park. So Patrick would run after Peyton and grab his hand...."Peyton, you are supposed to stand still for the pictures, not run away."

"Tickle Tickle Peyton"

Wish I had gotten more of each boy by themselves, but they just wouldn't cooperate.  Oh well, maybe next time!

Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween this year. Patrick was so excited about his costume and really loved it! He was Jake from the Neverland Pirates. He also picked out the rest of our family's costumes. He decided he wanted Peyton to be cubby, mom to be Izzy and Michael to be Captain Hook. I ordered Patrick and Peyton's costumes far in advance but was slacking when it came to Michael and I's outfits. I was hoping Patrick would forget about Michael and I dressing up, but he kept telling everyone about his whole family dressing up. So on Halloween morning before the boy's school party, I scrambled to get Michael and I a costume. I think they surprisingly turned out pretty well! I was so glad we ended up dressing up, because Patrick LOVED it. He kept telling me how great we looked. When someone would refer to us by name he would make sure to point out that it was Izzy and Captain Hook and not Minje and Michael :)

The boys were too excited about their prizes from Nana's house to actually smile for a picture this year

Trick or Treat Nana

Yay! Candy!

Sweet Hugs

After visiting both of our parents houses, we went to Rachel and Hunter Ellen's annual Halloween party. They have a hayride for the kids and drive the kids around in a hayride to trick or treat. It was really cold this year, so Peyton wasn't quite up for the hayride and chose to ride in the stroller. Patrick loved the hayride and preferred to sit instead of actually going trick-or-treating.

It was so fun to see how excited Patrick was this year for Halloween. He is definitely at a fun age where holiday's are just so magical for him.  Love it!
