Great Smoky Mountains 2020 Summer Vacation (Part 2)

On our second full day in Pigeon Forge we went to Dollywood Splash Country. We tried to go a couple years ago and were rained out, so we were so excited to go this year. We rented a cabana so we would have extra space and room from others if it was crowded. It worked out perfectly! Caitie took a great long nap in the cabana. It was also really nice to have lunch brought to us.

Waiting to watch brothers on the water coaster.

Our cabana was perfect!

Shaded area for this sweet girl to take a nap

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures. So I tried to take this one on the way out. They were all so tired!

This little one was energized after her nap and did not want to leave!

We headed back to the resort for our nightly s'mores.

Full moon

We started the next morning with some Dunkin Donuts, which is always the kids favorite.

Then we headed to Grotto Falls to see if we could try and beat the crowd.

It was packed on the trail! We finally made it to the waterfall

We took our time and let the kids play at the top in the water for a long time. It was a great refreshing rest before our hike back down the mountain.

It started pouring about 5 minutes after we finished the hike. I was so glad we timed it so perfectly! Next we headed to Anakeesta. It's one of our favorite things tot do in Pigeon Forge.  The wait was too long for the Gondola's so we had to ride the chair lift. It always terrifies me going up because there are no safety features for the little ones. The bars just lift right up!

Love them!

Such a gorgeous view!

Caitie loved playing in the new playhouses, but it also meant I had to go and help her and it is much more difficult for adults!

Unfortunately, both our phones died for the gorgeous sunset over the mountains. The kids got ice cream cones and we had some adult beverages while sitting in rocking chairs overlooking the mountains. It was gorgeous!

Pretty perfect day in the Smoky Mountains!
