Somehow we had escaped having a broken bone for over ten years. But the streak has ended. Patrick broke his right arm during a football drill on Saturday. It was a very bad break but he was such a champ. It took the full day in the ER to get him squared away.
He was so brave and did such a great job. He was pretty queasy after the anesthesia and struggled to stand up and walk. He will be in the hard cast for about a month and then will need to be in a soft cast for a while too. It wasn't the way we wanted to start his first season of football or the way we wanted to start the school year. However, we are just happy he is healthy and healing well!
He also had his first scrimmage against CPA. He was a little sad to watch and not be able to participate. Hopefully we will get back in there soon!
