Spring Break 2024- Norwegian Cruise (Part 1)

For Spring Break we went on a Norwegian cruise our of Port Canaveral to the Caribbean. We changed our flight to leave late on Saturday night because Peyton had a baseball tournament. We wanted Peyton to play in as much as the tournament as possible. Unfortunately, it rained on Saturday and the tournament was moved to Sunday so he missed the whole tournament.

Our flight was a little delayed, but took off fine. However, there was a big storm in Orlando and we spent an extra hour in the air going around the storm. We landed at 1am instead of the planned 12am arrival time. There were so many delayed flights that landed at the same time that we were told our baggage would be delayed. We waited and waited and waited. The below picture was taken at the airport at 4:30am. We still had not received our luggage. I reluctantly took the kids to the hotel room and left Michael to continue to wait on his own. These children were absolute troopers. Pulling an all nighter in the airport was not easy and they went with the flow very well.  We got to the hotel around 5:30am and Michael followed around 6am. We all took a nap in the room for a few hours. It was a rough start to the trip.

Michael had scheduled for a limo to pick us up to take us to Port Canaveral. The kids perked right up and danced and sang and had the best time in the limo. These sweet children only had 2-3 hours of sleep and still had a great time.

We boarded the ship around 1:30pm, headed for lunch and then went to the pool with an ice cream in hand, of course!

Watching the ship take off!

We explored the ship and asked about specialty restaurant reservations. We were able to get reservations for the Italian restaurant that night. It was really good and we all enjoyed our meal.

We crashed pretty early after a long travel day the day before!
