Yosemite National Park- Easter 2025 (Part 2)

The next morning we headed off for the toughest hike of the trip. It was a Saturday morning, so the park was a little busier than yesterday. We had to park about a mile away from the trailhead and walk there. We walked through an area with cool trees and boulders.

We hiked to Columbia Rock. It is a 2.2 mile hike with huge switchbacks and 1,000 feet of elevation in the first mile. It was tough. We wanted to see if the kids could hike another mile up to "Oh my Gosh" point on the way up to Upper Yosemite falls, but the first mile was such a challenge for them that we decided it would be too tough.

It was hot and the kids were tired. Here's a little conversation I had with Conor on the way up. "Mom this is hard, are we almost there yet?" "We are about halfway, just go slow we aren't in a hurry." "Well we may be late to my funeral if we are only halfway." I about died laughing. Conor definitely has a sense of humor!

We made it to Columbia Rock! Beautiful views of the valley.

Yes, we hiked all the way up from the bottom of the valley!

We saw a poisonous snake on the way down!

We walked through the meadow again with beautiful views of Half Dome. Never gets old!

The kids asked if we could play at the play area next to Lower Yosemite falls again. This time they challenged Michael to get on the see saw with them!

After the tough hike that morning we decided to rest and eat a little bit. We walked to Yosemite Valley Lodge and tried to eat at Basecamp eatery, but it was pretty packed. We settled on appetizers at the Mountain Room Lounge.

After a bite to eat we headed to Bridalveil Falls. It's a short little hike to the waterfall. It's a powerful one and the mist sprayed really far!

You can't tell from the picture, but she was getting soaked trying to take this picture! She's the only one that wanted to go up closer to it! The rest of us weren't interested in getting wet!

After the short little hike to Bridalveil falls we drove up to Tunnel View. This is the highest we could go in the park, since the rest was closed for snow. It's hit or miss on if the higher elevated roads are open at the end of April, but they had a late snowfall this year so they were still closed.

Loved that we could see so many famous sites from this one point!

We wrapped up the day with s'mores, swimming and dinner at the resort.
