Soccer Saturdays

Patrick's first soccer game was on March 28th. It was a big day for us, since it was also Peyton's birthday and birthday party. He was so excited to have such a big crowd there to support him... Nana, Grumps, Mark, mom, dad, Peyton and Conor all there to support him. He scored his first goal during his first game with no practice. Pretty amazing!

On the way to his first goal!

So proud of our big boy!

April 11th was his second game and Harper came to support Patrick

He also had his soccer pictures for the second game so it made for a long time at the fields which was tough. The team they played against was incredible and about two times the size of his team, so it was a little hard to keep them motivated. He did a good job playing, but no goals this time.

GO TEAM!

The day of Patrick's birthday party, April 18th, was his third game and he scored 5 goals! I ended up missing the game because I was setting up for the party so I was so bummed I missed out on such an exciting game! Luckily uncle Matt was in town and joined Michael to support him.

Patrick's whole team stood around him and chanted PATRICK, PATRICK while he stood in the center and gave them all high fives. Priceless!

April 25th was his fourth game and Allie and Big joined in the fun. Patrick scored an impressive goal where he actually dribbled around the other team to kick it in!

May 9th was his game against cousin Harper's team, where uncle Ryan is the coach. I made it to about 5 minutes of the game before Conor had a massive blowout which got all over me and him, so we had to leave to go home. I was sad I missed it!

Patrick's last soccer game was on May 16th. When we got to the fields it was barely raining, but right when the game started it turned into a torrential downpour! It was terrible and the kids were miserable! I was so surprised they did not call the game. Not sure why it was necessary to make 3 and 4 year olds play in such horrible weather! I was totally unprepared, so Conor and I stood under the umbrella and tried to stay dry (which was impossible). Michael took Peyton back to the car so they could wait it out there. Patrick asked if he could quit at half time. I didn't blame him one bit. It was raining so hard it actually hurt! We went into the gym to wait out the rain.

After the game, was cupcake and trophy time. Patrick was voted most likely to hustle and best hair (hysterical!!). He was so proud of his trophy!

Patrick also played soccer at school. He practiced two times a week during school hours and they had a game on Friday. Peyton, Conor and I went to watch the game. Peyton was a little crazy that day so we only stayed for a few minutes, but it was fun to see Patrick play with his best friends at school. They split up into two teams. Patrick was on the green team.
