2018 Baseball Season- Patrick and Peyton

Both of the big boys chose to play baseball again this year. Michael was an assistant coach for Peyton's team and the head coach for Patrick's team. Peyton played t-ball again this year and Patrick was in the 8U coach pitch league. They both had practice on Thursday nights so it was pretty nice that Michael could take them both.

Here they are before their first practice

We had such a rainy spring that a lot of their games were rained out.  This is what the field looked like for a good portion of season.

When we did have a game it was a double header. So we spent a lot of Saturdays at the ball park. This was how Caitie felt about being in the hot sun all day.  The boys actually asked if she could wear bows to match their uniforms, so she had a navy bow for Peyton's games and a red bow for Patrick's games. So sweet.

We played for 9 days/nights in a row at the end of the year, mostly double headers. So we were at the ballpark until 9:30 or 10 almost every night the last couple weeks of school. It was tough, but we had so much fun at the ballpark each night. Peyton made some great friends with some of the younger siblings and Michael and I made great friends with the parents.

I got a babysitter for Conor for a couple of the nights so he could have an early bedtime. But, he made almost all of the games and was so ready to play like his big brothers. He sat in the dugout for one of the games and when Michael looked over he had a helmet on and a bat ready. Sweet boy.

These boys are such good friends. I love it.

Patrick's team had a tournament at the end of the season. We had just beat a team we had not beaten before and the boys were so excited. I wish one of us would have caught it on video, but this is a picture of them all hugging and celebrating. SO cute. We ended up placing third in the tournament with a really tough loss at the end. The boys really improved so much and I loved being able to watch them.

After the last game of the season. Such a tough loss, but I was so proud of them!

Their professional pictures

Everyone scores and everyone wins in t-ball, but Peyton thought the won every game. So he said they were the season champs. He has been carrying around his trophy for the past couple days. He is so proud of it. This is after Peyton's end of the year swim party.

We had Patrick's end of the year party at Sharon and Gene's house on Sunday. It was SUCH a blast. the kids ended up swimming for 6 and a half hours straight. They all had so much fun.

And their team balls

One of the moms is a professional baker, so she always makes incredible cupcakes. So impressed!

It was such a fun year. I can't wait to see these boys play again next year!
