Great Wolf Lodge- Atlanta

Patrick's last day of school was last Friday and we had plans to pack up and head to the beach straight from school. We decided we would only drive halfway to the beach and stop somewhere fun for the night so the boys could burn off some energy. I had heard about Great Wolf Lodge opening near Atlanta and thought it would be really fun for the boys.

All packed up and ready to go!

This sweet little girl screamed like crazy unless I sat in the tiny spot between Patrick and Peyton in the way back and smiled at her the entire time. She sure is cute though!

It took about 4 and a half hours to get to Great Wolf Lodge. It was about 45 minutes out of the way, but we decided we would try it anyway. We were there the day of the Grand Opening and got a great deal on a room. We put on our wolf ears and checked into our room. The room was a great size for our family. It can be a challenge to find a room that is big enough for all of us. We had the Kid Cabin Suite, which had a room with a bunk bed and twin bed. Our portion of the room had a queen sized bed and a pull out couch. It was plenty of room for us.

Can you tell how excited they are!?!?

Sweet little girl put on her ears too

We arrived around 6:30pm and the water park is only open until 8pm. So we hustled downstairs and played until closing. Michael found his perfect spot.

This little guy loved going down all of the slides

The little kid section is for children under 48 inches. All of my children were able to play in this area

The water guns were definitely a favorite for Conor

After swimming, we headed back to the room to change and then grab dinner. Apparently every other family had the exact same plan, because it was packed. The main restaurant had a 2 and a half hour wait at 8:30pm...crazy! Two of the daytime food windows that had burgers and taco's were already closed. There was a small buffet, but it looked terrible, so we just picked up food from the pizza window. It took about 45 minutes to get our pizza and it didn't taste great. It was not cooked well at all. It was their first day open, so I think they were still working everything out. Hopefully they figure out a better system in the future!

Waiting on our pizza

They have lots of other activities for the kids, but we didn't have enough time to try them out. The boys were dying to play putt putt. Maybe next time!

Conor was amazed by the smoke breathing dragon in the lobby

The next day we woke up and headed straight for Dunkin Donuts. I think they need another breakfast spot because the line was crazy! We ate our donuts and then headed straight for the water park. The boys were all big enough for one of the family slides. I think they went down the slide about 20 times and loved it every time!

Patrick was tall enough for a couple others, but they looked a little scary and I was worried he would fall through the raft, so they stuck with the main family water slide.

We opted for a late checkout and then ate lunch and hit the road for South Carolina. It was definitely a fun start to the summer!
