Mulloy Disney Trip 2018 (Part 1)

A couple days after Thanksgiving we headed to Disney for our annual trip. The flights were extremely expensive since it was Thanksgiving weekend, so we decided to drive the 10 hours to Orlando. Our plan was to leave at 3am in the morning so the kids would sleep for the first few hours of the drive. Unfortunately, about 30 minutes outside of Nashville, Michael and I realized that we carried the children to the car at 3am and did not put their shoes on them or in the car. We lost about an hour turning around, but all of the children slept until we arrived in Atlanta.

We stopped to get some donuts at Dunkin Donuts and to take a quick stretch. We also stopped at chick-fil-a for lunch to get some energy out. The kids were wonderful on the drive and we only had to stop one more time. It took us about 12 hours to get to Orlando, which I thought was pretty great considering we stopped 3 times.

We checked into the Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace and changed for Disney Springs. The Hilton is just a short walk to Disney Springs, so we loaded up the stroller and headed out for our dinner reservations. We had a great time at the Irish restaurant in Nashville, so I thought it would be fun to try the Irish restaurant at Disney. We weren't very close to the music, but the boys went up to the front to dance to one of their favorite songs and we had fun singing along from our table.

After a very long drive, Michael had some fun of his own

Conor was excited to have a cookie as big as his head

We walked around Disney Springs for a little while. We explored their favorite store, the lego store.

We watched the dinosaurs at the T-Rex restuarant

Disney Springs was packed, so we didn't get to see the Christmas Tree Trail. So we decided to head back to the hotel and swim. The kids had been in the car all day and were still full of energy. They had a blast wearing themselves out racing around the lazy rivers in all the floats.

The next day we woke up bright and early for the Magic Kingdom! Sweet little Caitie's first ride was The Little Mermaid. She loved it.

We stopped at the kids favorite snack place, Gaston's Tavern. We ate cinnamon rolls and macarons for breakfast :)

We headed to our fast pass at Space Mountain next. I am such a chicken about rides and was a little nervous about Space Mountain. It was my first time riding space mountain and I would definitely do it again.

Our next fastpass was for Buzz Lightyear. Patrick was so into it he missed the camera portion. Sweet little Patrick was stuck riding by himself for a lot of rides. The rides at Disney World require an adult to be with a child under the age of 7. So Michael, Nana or I rode with Conor, Peyton or Caitie and Patrick rode by himself.

You can barely see Caitie's head. She was asleep on my lap

We stopped to watch the stage show at the castle

Then we headed to get a snack and let the boys climb the Swiss Family Treehouse. It's one of Patrick's favorite things to do and it only involves running up a bunch of stairs. The big boys both ran up a couple of times.

Afterwards we sat down to enjoy a cool treat. We have tried the Dole Whip before, but had never tried the Citrus Swirl so we decided to try both. Both were equally delicious!

We headed to Pirates of the Caribbean next. Sweet little Caitie was a little nervous during the ride. We only had a little bit of time before we needed to leave, so we searched for another fastpass and headed towards Dumbo. Conor fell asleep on the way, so Caitie and I hung out with Conor while the big boys played in the playhouse and rode Dumbo twice.

And we were off to go get Nana from the airport. Love this sweet little picture of Michael and Caitie on the ferry.

We picked up Nana from the airport and hung out at the hotel for a little while.

We ate at the hotel pool bar. It was a great place for the kids. They played volleyball, soccer and tic-tac-toe while we waited for our food.

Then we headed back for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. The past couple years the party has been sold out and this year was no exception. It was pretty packed. We still love going and getting all of the Christmas treats, listening to Christmas music, watching the parade and riding some rides. The little ones were fast asleep when we arrived.

Since Conor was asleep, we headed to Big Thunder Mountain. It was my first time riding and it was so fun! Michael sat with the little ones while the big boys, Nana and I rode. Then we used rider switch for the big boys to ride with Michael again. Next we headed to Seven Dwarfs Mine train. It's one of our very favorites! Since we used rider switch and switched around our Magic Bands, all of the pictures didn't show up. But there were a couple cute ones.

Nana and Caitie rode Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh while we rode the Mine Train

Next we headed to Peter Pan. It was a pretty long wait, but we love it and had never been through the queue with all of the sweet Peter Pan rooms. Next on the list was Buzz Lightyear again.

Then we settled in to watch the 11pm parade.

Since all of my children were going strong I dragged them back up to the front and we took a midnight picture at the castle. Can't believe they were all awake!

And we are worn out for the night!

See ya real soon Magic Kingdom!
