Spring Break 2018- Great Smoky Mountains (Part 3)

Our last day in Pigeon Forge started out like the others....relaxing by the fire and hanging out.

Sweet little Conor started saying "cheeeeese" and wanted his picture taken. Love his cheese face.

Conor has just recently started to pay attention to Caitie. He loves to hold her for about a minute and gently touch her hair. It's really sweet.

Love them

Patrick LOVES holding Caitie and begs to hold her all the time.

Coffee with my sweet girl by the fire. Couldn't get better

And then it was swimming time!

We had originally planned to go for opening day at Dollywood, but both Michael and I agreed that we just weren't up for it. We also weren't quite sure we had the correct newborn attachment for the double stroller, so we decided to try out a different activity.  Anakeesta is a new area in Gatlinburg and it is beautiful. We took a gondola to the top of the mountain. At the top there is a treehouse playground, ice cream shop, hanging bridges to walk through, a zip line and some assorted shops. They are in the process of building a large restaurant, expanding the playground, a mountain coaster, and cabins. It really is gorgeous and I think it will be really awesome once they finish it all.

The walking bridges were really cool. We went through them twice and they were really fun.

There are lots of rocking chairs that look out over the gorgeous view.

This is only a little view of the walking bridges. They really are neat.

After a fun afternoon at Anakeesta we headed back to the cabin and grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs with the Clapp family. The boys had a blast swimming with their cousins. Peyton had been begging to roast "smashmellows" so we also made s'mores. It was a perfect night to sit by the fire.

It was such a fun family vacation! We had such a blast. It took a little extra effort to go with a newborn, but I am so glad we decided to go. Caitie barely made a peep and we were able to make some great family memories!
