Mulloy Disney Trip 2016 (Part 1)

Our third trip to Disney started out a little rough! Michael got strep throat a couple days before we were supposed to leave. Poor thing slept the entire day and just felt awful! I barely got it all packed before we had to be out the door bright and early the next day. On Saturday morning, we woke the kids up at 4:30am to get in the car and were packed and in the car at 5am. Before we left, Michael checked his coat pocket to make sure he had his license, my license (I never take my purse with me to Disney) and the three birth certificates. Well he couldn't find my license anywhere. We tore the house apart and couldn't find it, so at 5:30am we decided to head to the airport anyway and hope they let us on the plane. After a full body search, they finally let us through security and we barely made it to the plane on time!

The kids were not great on the plane and it was a tough trip. Michael and I were pretty worn out when we finally arrived. Surprisingly, when we arrived at Wilderness Lodge our room was ready. We got a room with bunk beds and the kids were really excited about it!

I took a few pictures before the tornado of three young boys hit the room :)

We are here!!

Wilderness Lodge has some of the smallest rooms at Disney World, but the views from the room are really gorgeous! The lobby is also so beautiful at Christmas!

We grabbed a quick bite for lunch and then headed straight for the pool and splash pad.  We were in the pool for maybe 5 minutes before Peyton went down the large slide in the pool and swallowed too much water and threw up in the pool. Of course the pool was shut down for about 30 minutes while it was shocked and cleaned. Luckily, there were only about 5 other people in the pool, so it wasn't a huge deal. Definitely not the start to the trip we were hoping for though! We rested for a few minutes to make sure Peyton was okay and then headed to the splash pad.

After the pool opened up, we swam for another hour or so.  Here is a little video of the boys going down the slide. I really liked that there is a little traffic light at the top that tells each child when they can go down so they don't run into each other. Very helpful!

They decorated Christmas ornaments by the pool

Then we got ready and headed to the boat to Fort Wilderness for Mickey's Backyard BBQ

We bought the early entrance option so we arrived with only a couple other families an hour before the barbecue started. We were supposed to have a meet and greet with the characters before the party started, but the characters were stuck in traffic and didn't make it. We were a little bummed, since that meant we would have to wait in line with everyone else later in the night. Our early access also allowed us to get food before everyone else arrived and that was really convenient! The lines were pretty long when the barbecue started so I was really glad we had a crew fed and the kids could get out on the dance floor!

Peyton fell asleep on the way there, but the other two were pretty excited!

Cute little set up

Goofballs

The boys were excited to run around for a little while before everyone else was let into the party.

It's pretty tough to see, but Peyton is in there jumping all around and having fun with Goofy.

While the characters took a break and met people, they had little shows in between. This was the first one and he was pretty entertaining with all of his stunts.

Love this picture!!

Goofy

So much fun!

And as soon as we were about to leave, they played Rocky Top! Michael and Patrick were pretty pumped up about it!

Checking out the cozy little spots in the Wilderness Lodge. Isn't the view of the tree just gorgeous

The spring that runs from the inside all the way to the pool

Such a gorgeous lobby!
